People and organizations compete for keywords so that their business or topic will come up first as a search engine result. But, how do you do that? This is when the whole Search Engine Optimization (SEO) job comes into play.
Your first step is to ask yourself: what is my business or topic is all about? And, make a list of those words. Take out all grammar words, we are strictly talking services. Once you have a list, narrow down those keywords to the most important ones pertaining your website. Those are your keywords.
But, they might be the keywords that you might think that are trending. You have to make sure that they are trending online. In other words, if people really are searching these words online. The ones that match are your strong keywords. Other tools we use is Google Keyword Planner, competitor analysis, and hashtag trends. But, the question still remains, how do you know that your keywords are working and that your website is being found?
We use Google Analytics for website traffic, however, in the recent years Google Analytics has wiped out actual keyword results. So, the best way is to type in the keywords that you have been campaigning in the search box and if your website comes up on the 1st page of Google, you have been doing a fantastic job.
